January Happenings

I made it my goal this year to make sure we are keeping everyone (who wants to be) updated with what we have happening around the 4-H Center. So here are some updates! Let me know what other things you'd like to be included in future emails!

Great News:
  • Due to Cindy and Preston's hard work and determination the center was able to secure money from the General Assembly for capital improvements. This process started about two years ago and required cooperation and support from the counties and cities that we serve. We are grateful and excited for the improvements this will allow us to make to these 80+ year old facilities.
  • Improvements so far include:
    • Water tank motors repaired
    • Dining Hall floors buffed and polished
    • Dining Hall ac/heat unit replaced.
    • Small Dining Hall bathrooms revamp -new toilets, lighting, and paint.
    • Quotes/Research done for new ADA ramp, roofs, and repairs to Large Bunkhouse
    • more to come!
Calendar of Events:
  • Giving Day - February 23-24 (noon-noon)  We are in competition with the other 6 4-H Educational Centers and the winner gets an additional $2,500. It's all about donors not dollars!
